How it works
Cyclonote™ isn’t just a visual helper — it’s a compact visual engine of music theory.
Built on two rotating discs and a unique system of concentric scales, it maps out the hidden logic of tonalities, chords and arpeggios in a circular format.
Here’s how it works:
- Each position = a key. Choose a tonic (like C or A), and Cyclonote aligns every degree of that key’s scale around it — including its relative minor.
- Intervals are displayed visually. From the tonic, every note’s position reveals its exact interval (major 3rd, minor 6th, etc.) at a glance.
- Triads and 7th chords are decoded. Each degree shows its typical chord type (major, minor, diminished, etc.), helping you understand progressions in any key.
- Two faces for full clarity. One side is for sharp keys (#), the other for flat keys (♭) — so you always work in clean, familiar visuals.
- Color-coded alterations. Sharps, flats and double-flats are displayed using color logic, so you instantly know if a note is altered, and by how much.
Bonus: arpeggio lines. Cyclonote even includes visual “paths” to play tonic arpeggios on major or minor chords — making composition and improvisation smoother.
